The following are suggested funding resources for seniors transportation-related initiatives for agencies. If you know of any other funding resources to suggest, please let us know.
Metro Vancouver
Pacific Parklands Bus Grant Program
For taking your group by bus to a Metro Vancouver Regional Park!
$500 grant for bus rental cost - up to $1000 including $250 honorarium for a guide.
The Bus Grant Program was launched in 2017 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. This program connects children, youth organizations, community centres, senior’s groups, and organizations that support people with disabilities or who experience other barriers to experiencing nature.

United Way of the Lower Mainland Active Aging Grants and other grant opportunities
Since 2015, the Active Aging Research Team (AART) and the United Way of the Lower Mainland (UWLM) have been working in partnership to provide community grants that reach diverse communities that build capacity to promote older adult physical activity, social connectedness, independence – and health. In 2018 alone, 28 Active Aging grants were distributed across BC.

New Horizons for Seniors Program
The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) has both community-based projects (1 year, up to $25, 000) and a pan-Canadian grant stream. Click here for more information. While we had previously heard community-based projects cannot be used for transportation initiatives, some agencies have told us they now can.

Fraser Health Authority’s Macro Health grant and others Click Here
The Macro Health grant is available once annually. The Macro Health grant initiative aims for greater community impact, fostering partnerships and using this grant as a leverage to generate opportunities that can continue over time, encourage expansions of activities and seek possible future funding opportunities. The deadline to apply is October 18, 2019.
